Let me show you the dreamiest backyard wedding, complete with a wedding parade in North St. Paul. You aren’t ready for the gorgeous, delightful LOVE that surrounded this day!!
The couple hosted their ceremony right at home, tucked into a tree-filled backyard with vintage rugs lining the aisle and a circular floral arch. The flowers were bursting with peach, blush, butter yellow, and soft pink blooms. (LOVED this color palette!) Guests sat in mismatched chairs while kids ran around barefoot in party clothes, and the whole atmosphere felt relaxed in the best possible way.
And then there was the fashion. We need a moment for their sense of style. Because… they. are. goals.
The bride wore the dreamiest blush pink gown covered in oversized floral appliqué and shimmering embroidered details. It was every bit as iconic as you think.
It was somehow both whimsical and dramatic at the same time. Paired with a delicate flower crown and bright sunflower-filled bouquet, the whole look fit the backyard garden vibe perfectly.
The groom kept things equally stylish in an olive green suit with a pale pink tie and bonbonnière, which tied everything together so naturally.

The Parade Through North St. Paul
One of the most memorable parts of the day was easily the Wedding Parade in North St. Paul. After the ceremony, everyone walked together through the neighborhood toward the local VFW for the reception.
Guests smiled and waved from the sidewalks while kids twirled around in colorful dresses and the wedding party soaked in every second of it. I don’t see parades often, but when I do… they’re always a favorite of mine.
Celebrations should take up space. Life is so beautiful, and wedding days are some of the most special of them all. Parade that sh*t in the streets!!!
Plus, it felt less like a formal transition and more like one big community celebration.

Karaoke, Dancing, and a Packed VFW Dance Floor
The celebration carried right into the reception, where the VFW transformed into a lively, joy-filled party space. Guests jumped straight into karaoke, dancing, and celebrating together without a hint of hesitation. Everyone who was there genuinely knew and adored the couple, and that energy carried through every part of the evening.
Some weddings focus on tradition. Others feel focused on aesthetics. This one felt focused on people.
And that is the heart of what I do as a Twin Cities Photographer - so it felt like the most aligned moment artistically.

From backyard ceremony to wedding parade in North St. Paul...
...this entire wedding day felt intentional, heartfelt, and completely true to the couple. The neighborhood walk was such a fun reflection of their personalities and the kind of community they have built around themselves.
Days like this are always such a reminder that the best weddings are the ones that feel the most like home. Sign me up for all the backyard ceremonies and joyful receptions, please
